Program Overview
Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County serves youth ages 6-18 across three locations in Vero Beach, Sebastian, and Fellsmere. Our Afterschool Program seeks to provide youth with meaningful recreational and educational opportunities; to achieve the priority outcome areas for Clubs:

This page serves as your “one-stop shop”, and includes all of the information you’ll need for enrollment for our Afterschool Program. We encourage all interested families to review it in its entirety

Club Locations
Members are transported to Club facilities following dismissal from school. To view the schools where we are able to offer transportation, please refer to your respective Club's webpage. Families outside of our transportation service offerings may self transport. For self-transport, please check with your Club Leadership for designated arrival times.

The 2026-27 Afterschool Program operates Monday-Fridays, and will be open from August 17th, 2026 through May 14th, 2027.
Please refer to our calendar below for Club closures or alternate hours of operation.
Additionally, linked below is the 2026-27 Instructional Calendar for the School District of Indian River County. Families should plan for alternate pick-up or care for school days in which the Clubs are closed or operating under alternate hours.

Hours of Operation
On standard school days, our afterschool program is open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
For members who are self-transporting to their Club, please speak with Club Leadership for designated arrival times.
- Grades 9-12th (High School) arrive between 2:00pm and 2:45pm
- Grades 6-8th (Middle School) arrive between 2:45pm and 3:45pm
- Grades K-8th (Elementary & K-8 model Schools) arrive between 3:45pm and 4:45pm
For days in which SDIRC schools are closed, but which the Clubs are open, these are designated as "full days"
On these full days, the Clubs are open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
There are no designated arrival times for full days. Members may not be dropped off any time before 7:30 a.m.
Additionally, there are no extra fees or registration process for Afterschool Program Families to participate in full days.
Please note that there is no food service provided on full days. Lunch and snack must be provided by parent(s)/guardian(s)on full days.
Afterschool Program families are also eligible to attend our Break Care programs at no extra charge, nor is any separate registration required. Hours of operation for Break Care are the same as full days: from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Thanksgiving Break Care: Monday, November 23rd through Wednesday, November 25th 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily
- Winter Break Care: December 21st through 22nd, AND January 4th through 5th 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily
- Spring Break Care: March 22nd through 26th 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily
Registration for Break Care will be made available for families who wish to only attend for those dates. Standalone Break Care has its own pricing format, stay tuned for that information!
Afterschool Program Fees
The Application Fee is a one-time fee paid at the start of each new program, and is assessed per child, regardless scholarship status. Application fees are due at the time of enrollment.
- $30 per child (for Members ages 6-12)
- $10 per child (for Teens ages 13-18)
The Transportation Fee is assessed each month per child transported to the Club to offset transportation costs. Families who will self-transport should contact their Club Leadership to waive the monthly transportation fee.
- $10 per child, per month (for Members ages 6-12)
- FREE for Teens ages 13-18 or any members designated as 'walkers' or 'self-transport'
Due to the shortened service period, August 2026 monthly fees are discounted. Note, August fees must be paid by August 5th despite the program starting on August 17th. Late payments are subject to late payment fees.
August 2025 Fees:
- $20 per family with one child (ages 6-12)
$35 per family with two children (ages 6-12)
$45 per family with 3 or more children (ages 6-12)
FREE for Teen Members (ages 13-18)
Monthly Fees: (September 2026 through May 2027):
- $40 per family with one child (ages 6-12)
$70 per family with two children (ages 6-12)
$90 per family with 3 or more children (ages 6-12)
FREE for Teen Members (ages 13-18)
As a condition of their free membership at the Club , Teens (ages 13-18) will be required to complete 10 volunteer hours each semester. The Clubs will provide opportunities to complete this requirement. Please note that many of our volunteer opportunities may fall outside of Club hours, such as on weekends or evenings.
Scholarships
Scholarships are available to reduce the cost to participate in our Afterschool Program. Interested families must apply using our scholarship application for each new program. Recipients are awarded based on demonstrated financial need. When applying for a scholarship, please have ready digital versions of the household's most recent W-2 or 3 months most recent paystubs.
Scholarships are awarded at 50% or 100%.

Enrollment Timeline & Requirements
Enrollment windows will be determined by your family’s status with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County. See below for our status definitions, to see which apples to you:
Current Families - currently registered in our 2025-26 Afterschool Program or 2026 Summer Program
New Families – include families who have never enrolled at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County, or has not enrolled in a program since August 2025 (25-26 Afterschool Program or 2026 Summer Program)
Applications will open to our families as follows:
- For Current Families - Applications will open March 11th, 2026.
- For New Families – Applications will open June 21st, 2026
Applications will only be processed when all requirements are satisfied.
If your application is submitted without satisfying each requirement, your approval will be delayed. We will not hold your position on our processing list while these requirements are met; they will be processed based on the date they are received.
- Family qualifies for application window (based on status as Current or New Family)
- Parent/Guardian participates in the Parent/Guardian Orientation
- Application Fees are paid
($30.00 per child ages 6-12)
($10.00 per child ages 13-18) - All application attachments are uploaded

Parent/Guardian Orientation
Before submitting your enrollment application, a parent/guardian must complete the summer orientation. This year, our orientation requirements are as follows:
Current Families - may participate in our virtual orientation. That link will be shared via email when registration opens.
New Families – must participate in an in-person orientation at your Club site.

Scholarship Application
Families may apply for scholarships to discount program fees. Scholarships are awarded at 50% or 100%. Please note, scholarships do not waive the application fee per child. The Scholarship Application is also done through the EZChildTrack Parent Portal, but is separate from the Afterschool Program Application. The Scholarship Application will only be processed after the Program Application is processed, and the application fee per child has been paid.
If applying for a scholarship, please have the following documents ready for income verification:
- Option #1: 2025 W-2’s for the household
- Option #2: The most recent three months consecutive paystubs, for household
Please note, if your child is awarded a scholarship, they must attend the Club for a minimum of 3 days per week. Failure to do so will void your scholarship eligibility. Contact your Club Director for any questions about scholarship attendance requirements.
